I had this neighbor. He was a bit of a nutter.
His place was on the other side of the corn field about a eighth of a mile down the road. It was a great old log cabin that was over 300 years old. The owners had asked him to move. He was months behind on the rent and everyone was sure he was “on that meth”…
Well, homie said he had squatters rights, so they sent the sheriff… He swore he would get even but nobody ever thought…
So, I’m chillin’ with Kevin K at Small Barn Sound. It’s kinda late and the 4-year-old, Fred, has been sent to bed a few times already. The door creaked open and Fred poked his head in he kinda sauntered over to me and says “there’s one more thing.”
“Now son…” I started
“I love you, Dad”
Ah, derailed :)
I sent him on to bed but just as he got to the door he turned, “oh yeah, I almost forgot, Earlier, I saw a fire in the woods.”
I saw a fire in the woods
Huh? Where? Can you point to it?

Just as we focused, the fire burst from the widows and doors of the magnificent cabin. Seconds later the upstairs windows blew
Tail lights were seen leaving the scene; they were of the same make as the crazy neighbor’s. I dialed the sheriff and they
called the fire brigade.
The first thing the sheriff said upon his arrival was “Did anyone see BillyJoe leaving.”
A couple hours later we went back to Small Barn Sound. I wandered over to the 120 year old beat-up piano and hit a couple chords. Kevin hit the big red button. Over the next 30 minutes or so, we let our feelings out on tape. The sounds you are hearing
were made by the two of us. There are 6 instruments Recorded in 3 live passes.
The next morning, Jedi Smo popped by for a visit. I was playing with the track and told him the story. 30 minutes later Josh
had put the story of a man being driven mad by a decadent life on tape.
The track is raw just as our emotions The vocal is the same Just like the thoughts of a man who would burn a house to suit his
